On 22nd February 2018 we had a school debate during which we were trying to answer the question "How to be eco friendly? No more plastic bags!". What's more, the results of the school ecological contest "Global dangers" were announced to us.
Nature reserves in our neighborhood, Bålsta, Sweden We have worked with Nature reserves. In Sweden, and in Bålsta, there are a lot of nature reserves. It´s a challenge of our region to beware the nature, the birds, the flowers, the drinkable water in our big lake Mälaren and to be able to breathe the air. We live in a part of Sweden where there is a lot of people, industries and traffic. We people are stressing our region hard. We have now completed a project on loal production of food. We have been involved in harvesting, production and sales. We have picked the apples in a local park. Then they are squeezed to juice at Fonte Verdi Fruit Pressery in Molde. Big thanks to the holder Ton Hazes that is so generous and invited us to come and press apples with him. (low transport = low emissions) - Choose healthy, good ingredients? (100% natural without additives) - work for less food waste? What tastes best? Food which is fresh, or food expired on date? Written by Marco, Sara, Camilla and Kristupas We made a test for everyone at school. Those who participated in the test did not know which food items who was fresh or expired on date. This is the food items we tested: Carrot, egg, potato chips, yogurt, soda, juice, chewing gum, banana, milk and cheese. This is what we found: Almost 50% said that fresh food and food expired on date tasted the same. 20 % said that food expired on date tested best. 30 % said that fresh food tested best.
